You tell me lies, lies, lies Sweet little lies When I cannot bear the truth You tell me lies, lies, lies Sweet little lies Help me make them all come true
Tell me that the rain won’t fall today Tell me that the tax man lost his way (oh, oh) Tell me that the hurtin aint gonna hurt no more Tell me that somebody stopped the war (please tell me)
Tell me lies, lies, lies Sweet little lies When I cannot bear the truth You tell me lies, lies, lies Sweet little lies Help me make them all come true
I said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah I said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Tell me that the whole world’s wonderful (yes it is) Tell me that the bank account’s too full Tell me that we all got plenty of time, time, time (tell me somethin) Tell me that I ain’t gonna lose my mind
Tell me lies, lies, lies Sweet little lies When I cannot bear the truth Tell me lies, lies, lies Sweet little lies Help me make them all come true
And you know I’m just a man With my heart in my hand You tell me things at home And go once more and leave me alone And even though I got no place For I’m on the run from the man Just hold on to me Just hold on to me
Everytime I need a prayer Everytime I need to share Everytime I need someone to hold on to me
Tell me lies, lies, lies Sweet little lies When I cannot bear the truth Tell me lies, lies, lies Sweet little lies Help me make them all come true
Help me make them all come true Help me make them all come true Help me make them all come true Help me make them all come true Help me make them all come true Tell me that the whole world’s wonderful
When the rain is blowing in your face, And the whole world is on your case, I could offer you a warm embrace To make you feel my love.
When the evening shadows and the stars appear, And there is no one there to dry your tears, I could hold you for a million years To make you feel my love.
I know you haven’t made your mind up yet, But I would never do you wrong. I’ve known it from the moment that we met, No doubt in my mind where you belong.
I’d go hungry; I’d go black and blue, I’d go crawling down the avenue. No, there’s nothing that I wouldn’t do To make you feel my love.
The storms are raging on the rolling sea And on the highway of regret. Though winds of change are blowing wild and free, You ain’t seen nothing like me yet.
I could make you happy, make your dreams come true. Nothing that I wouldn’t do. Go to the ends of the Earth for you, To make you feel my love.

Last week was the week of the cupcake. On Thursday Gail and I made the pilgrimage to Kind Food in Burlington to indulge in the world’s best cupcakes. These cupcakes are: butter-free, casein free, dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free, lard-free, peanut-free, refined sugar-free, soy-free, kosher, vegan and fucking AMAZING! 12 of these bad boys came home with us and from Thursday to Sunday I had a cupcake a day. Despite the cupcake insanity, on Sunday I was still a welter weight. If there is a greater power, it wrapped me in its embrace this week.
Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau Some belonged to strangers, some to folks you know Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand To beautify the foothills, and shake the many hands
nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop And an illustrated book about birds See a lot up there but don’t be scared Who needs action when you (got) words
finished with the mop then you can stop And look at what you’ve done The plateau’s clean, no dirt to be seen And the work it was fun
nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop And an illustrated book about birds See a lot up there but don’t be scared Who needs action when you (got) words
Many a hands began to scan around for the next plateau Some say it was Greenland, and some say Mexico Others decided it was nowhere except for where they stood But those were all just guesses, wouldn’t help you if they could
